LG V30 Flagship Android Phone Priced At $750 According To Twitter Contest

LG has teased only a handful of details about its upcoming V30 handset after unveiling the flagship phone at IFA in Berlin earlier this week. One of the unknowns is the price, or so that was the case initially. According to the fine print of a Twitter contest that LG is promoting, the unlocked version of the V30 has an approximate retail value (AVR) of $749.99 in the United States.

As part of the contest, LG is giving away three V30 phones for free. Those who are eligible need only retweet the following Twitter post to enter:
LG also posted official rules for the contest, and that is where the value of the V30 is revealed. Considering that the $750 price tag is coming direct from LG, it is a pretty safe bet that is what the actual retail price will be. What still is not known, however, is when exactly the V30 will be available. The closest indication is sometime after September 3, as the Twitter contest kicked off on August 31 and runs for three days.

At the presumed $750 price tag, the V30 is $200 less expensive than Samsung's recently launched Galaxy Note 8, and handset that is considered one of its main competitors. Like the Galaxy Note 8, the V30 is a big handset—it wields a 6-inch QHD+ organic light emitting diode (OLED) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is also expected to debut with a QUalcomm Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip (SoC) and 6GB of RAM.

As is becoming a trend in the smartphone sector, the V30 will have a dual camera setup on the back. This will consist of a 16-megapixel f/1.6 sensor paired with a 13-megapixel f/1.9 sensor. LG is also touting a glass lens that minimizes the dispersion of light, allowing for 4 percent more light to pass through to the image sensor for brighter photos with less noise.

The last thing to note is durability. LG says the V30 is IP68 certified for water resistance (up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes), and also military tested (MIL-STD 810G).
