Moto Z3 Play Render Confirms Dual Cameras And Slimmer Display Bezels
What looks to be an official press render of the unreleased Moto Z3 Play has emerged, and with it comes confirmation a few details. For one, we can see a dual camera arrangement on the back of the handset. That has become a common feature on newer smartphones, and is notable in this instance because it's a departure from the design of the current generation Moto Z2 Play, which sports a single rear-mounted camera.
While the specs have not been confirmed, rumor has it the dual cameras consist of a 12-megapixel shooter paired with an 8-megapixel sensor. One of the benefits of having two camera sensors is being able to focus on a subject while blurring out the background without relying too heavily on software algorithms.
We can also see that Motorola removed the Home button with an accompanying fingerprint sensor from the front of the phone. This gives the Moto Z3 Play more physical screen real estate. It's said to have a 6-inch display with a Full HD+ resolution. As for the fingerprint sensor, previous rumors suggested it would be moved to the side of the phone. We can't see if that's the case from the above render, but it's a possibility.
Another thing that is not visible is whether or not the Moto Z3 Play has a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sadly, the popular port has begun to fall by the wayside, which for many users means having to either buy a new set of earphones, or plug existing ones in with an adapter.
According to documents filed with the Federal Communications Commission, the Moto Z3 Play will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 system-on-chip (SoC), 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of built-in storage. Some of the documents also suggested there will be a SKU with 32GB of storage. It's not clear if it will also wield a microSD card reader.
