MSI Introduces Core i5 P600 15.6" Business Notebook

Another week, another new MSI notebook! The company just keeps on churning them out from every possible type of user, and the P600 has one particular group in mind: business users. the 15.6" P600 is the outfit's latest machine, but rather than being designed for hardcore gaming, it's designed to just get through the work day.

It's loaded with Windows 7 Home Premium, an Intel Core i5 processor, Intel's GMA HD graphics, up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, a 2.5" HDD (250/320/500GB SATA), a 2-in-1 multi-card reader (SD/SDHC/MMC), HDMI out, a VGA output, two USB 2.0 ports, an eSATA port, mic-in/headphone-out, Ethernet, an 8-cell battery, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 and a 1.3MP webcam. There's also a pair of speakers, a Kensington lock port, fingerprint reader and a good bit of pre-installed software.

For anyone who doesn't care much about HD multimedia or gaming, this seems like a perfect fit. It'll surely cost less than most other Core i5 notebooks due to the integrated (as opposed to discrete) graphics, and it'll still be rather quick when it comes to handling typical, everyday tasks. Shame MSI won't tell us an estimate price or release date, but we're hoping to see those soon.

Cutting edge computer for mobile commerce
Less is more: Built by MSI's highly awarded design team, the P600 is characterized by its flowing feather pattern lines and lustrous rhombic color film print which accentuate its light, minimalist grace. Equipped with a DVD drive and 8-cell large capacity batteries, the 15.6" P600 only weighs 2.4kg—the perfect blend of lightness, beauty, and performance.

Unique new Chiclet keyboard: The P600 comes with MSI's own Chiclet keyboard the independent key which gives it an unpretentious style all its own. Typing is more comfortable and quieter and the design helps keep you from hitting the wrong keys as you type more naturally in any program.

Multipoint touchpad and Touchpad Locker: The P600 also comes with a multipoint touchpad, so you no longer need a mouse when viewing webpages and pictures. Simply use two fingers to zoom in/out and rotate photos or scroll webpages. The upper edge of the touchpad is equipped with a unique Touchpad Locker to lock the touchpad when needed to prevent problems stemming from accidentally touching the touchpad.

Dual biometric verification for tight security
Fingerprint reader: To ensure data security, the P600 comes with a fingerprint reader located between the two touchpad buttons, so you can use biometric recognition to protect your computer. Your data is protected by a fingerprint reader that recognizes individual fingerprints, so you no longer have to memorize user accounts and passwords to access data. With a light sweep of your finger, the biometric system lets you, and only you, in.

EasyFace software: In addition to protecting your data with a fingerprint reader, the P600 is equipped with MSI's exclusive EasyFace program to further protect your notebook. The EasyFace Manager uses the P600's HD webcam to take and store several sets of photos of the user which are utilized by the easy-to-use EasyFace Autolocker and EasyFace Logon when accessing your computer.
