NVIDIA TITAN Xp Star Wars Collector's Edition Lets You Feel The Force Or Embrace The Dark Side

Late last week, NVIDIA released a rather cryptic teaser trailer for an upcoming enthusiast graphics card. All that we could make out from the video were a dueling theme with red versus green (which we assumed to be AMD versus NVIDIA) and the name TITAN X Collector's Edition, which was emblazoned on the card.

Today, NVIDIA officially announced the TITAN Xp Collector's Edition, which is available in two Star Wars-themed variants to let you embrace the light/dark side. In the red corner, we have the Galactic Empire, which features a finish that NVIDIA describes as "simple, clean lines, emulating the high-end, orderly nature of the resource-rich Empire". We sure hope that force chokes are optional on this version.

In the green corner, we have the Jedi Order, which has a diecast aluminum cover that has been weathered to represent the war-torn gear most often used by the Rebel Alliance.

Both cards feature windowed areas that allow you to get a peek at the potent GPU hardware lurking underneath, and you'll see logos for the respective sides sitting above the blower fan. NVIDIA has also extended its light/dark themes to the retail packaging, as the Jedi Order card has an exterior box that come in white, while the Galactic Empire card of course comes nestled inside a black box.

NVIDIA hasn't changed the specs of the TITAN Xp Collector's Edition; this is merely a cosmetic makeover. That means that you will gain access to a fully uncorked Pascal GPU with the following specs:

  • 12GB GDDR5X memory operating at 11.4 Gbps
  • Maximum memory bandwidth of 548Gbps
  • 3,840 CUDA cores running at a clock speed of 1.6GHz
  • 12 TFLOPs of compute power

Both TITAN Xp Collector's Edition cards will be "broadly available" on November 17th, but GeForce Experience users will get a chance to pre-order either card tomorrow via the NVIDIA Store. The price of entry is $1,200, which is the exact same as the standard TITAN Xp.
