If you're a big fan of OnePlus' family of Android smartphones, you'll be happy to know that the wait for the company's newest flagship won't be much longer. Some people are still trying to grapple with the fact that the OnePlus 5 was just released back in July, but nonetheless, its follow-up OnePlus 5T will bow on November 16th.

As previously reported, the OnePlus 5T will be unveiled in New York, and will be open not only the press (as is typically the case with new product unveils), but also the public. The caveat here is that non-press attendees will have to purchase a $40 ticket to get in to the event.

If you're a OnePlus fan that doesn't want to hand over $40, or simply can't make it to New York City for the big show, you will still be able to watch via a free online livestream. We'll add one more thought on the $40 ticket price; we sure hope that OnePlus will let customers who take them up on this offer get a reciprocal $40 discount on the purchase of a new OnePlus 5T. That would be the fair thing to do.

OnePlus made the announcement via this short teaser trailer which is available via YouTube:

Recent benchmarks seem to confirm that the OnePlus 5T will have a 6-inch FHD+ display (2160x1080) and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. There will be two configurations available, with a base model featuring 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, while the higher tier will feature 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. We're also expecting dual cameras on the rear of the device along with a 20MP front-facing selfie camera.

While some Android flagship are ditching the venerable 3.5mm audio port -- **cough** Google Pixel 2 -- OnePlus founder Pete Lau confirmed that the OnePlus 5T still has a headphone jack.

"The question we asked ourselves was whether replacing the 3.5 mm jack with a USB-C port would bring a noticeably improved experience for our users. In other words, is it worth the trade off," said Lau last week. "And our assessment was no, this design decision was not worth taking away our users' freedom to use their favorite earphones and accessories."

The OnePlus 5T will be available for sale in the United States and across Europe on November 21st. India will be up next on November 28th, while Chinese customers will have to wait until December 1st to order the smartphone.
