Alleged OnePlus 7 Specs Highlight Snapdragon 855 And Massive 4000 mAh Battery

It’s getting close to the time when OnePlus announces its first Android flagship for 2019. The company’s follow-up to the OnePlus 6T is likely to be called the OnePlus 7, and we’ve already captured some pretty detailed speculative renders of the device. Now we’re getting an idea of what kind of specs the smartphone will pack when it launches.

The latest leak comes from Giztop, which indicates that the smartphone will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, which is pretty much a given at this point. However, the first interesting bit of information is that the chip can be paired with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM; each is paired with 128GB or 256GB of internal storage respectively

With the OnePlus 6T, the base configuration included 6GB of RAM, while the top-end configuration held firm with 8GB. OnePlus later added a McLaren Edition SKU with 10GB of RAM, but it’s nice to see that the 12GB configuration is allegedly being added to the mainline OnePlus 7 family.

The display is said to measure 6.5 inches, but there is no mention of resolution; although we suspect that it’s likely FHD+. When it comes to photography, the OnePlus 7 is rumored to feature a triple-camera setup on the rear with 48MP, 20MP and 5MP sensors. The front-facing 16MP selfie camera is attached to a pop-up module.

The other big specification of note is the battery, which is listed at a rather generous 4,000 mAh. However, as OnePlus confirmed in late February, the flagship disappointingly won’t support wireless charging. "OnePlus charging is one of the best; wireless charging is far inferior," said OnePlus CEO Pete Lau.

The price for the OnePlus 7 is listed at $569, which is just $20 more expensive than the OnePlus 6T’s starting price. However, we should all take this information with a grain of salt at the moment. It could be that this is a placeholder listing for the upcoming flagship, but the specs don’t seem toofar out of line with what we could expect for the OnePlus 7.
