Samsung has announced a refreshed line of laptop computers that it says has a combination of power, speed, and style. Unfortunately, to many eyes the refined design that Samsung brags about looks a lot like Apple's MacBook Pro family. Samsung's new machines are called the Notebook 7 and Notebook 7 Force. The Notebook 7 line includes 13- and 15-inch versions with a glass display in Full HD resolution. Samsung says that both machines have a high screen-to-body ratio with "barely noticeable" bezels providing a premium viewing experience. Features include Gigabit Wi-Fi, Dolby Atmos sound, and an additional SSD slot on the larger, 15-inch notebook for more storage down the road.

Both screen sizes of the Notebook 7 have the same hardware available with various Intel 8th gen Core processors, Intel UHD graphics, and up to 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM. Storage is up to a 512GB SSD. Both machines have backlit keyboards, fingerprint scanners, and 55Wh batteries. A version is offered with an NVIDIA GeForce MX250 discrete GPU. Pricing is unannounced, and the Notebook 7 models will be offered in Korea, Hong Kong, and later this year in the U.S. and Brazil.

The Notebook 7 Force comes only in 15.6-inch screen size with full HD resolution. It also uses 8th generation Core processors with the main difference being more powerful NVIDIA graphics with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU. The Notebook 7 Force has up to 24GB DDR4 RAM with 1 SODIMM + 4/8GB onboard.
