Samsung To Offer Same-Day Repair Service For Galaxy Smartphones

Nobody is perfect, and sometimes accidents happen. This is especially true with smartphones, which are seemingly held in front of our faces 24-7-365. With that constant usage comes a continual threat of doing some serious damage to your smartphone from dropping or it to encountering some other day-ruining calamity. Samsung is looking to come to the rescue for Galaxy smartphone owners in need of assistance by offering same-day repair service in the United States.

To pull this off, Samsung is partnering with over 300 uBreakiFix locations across the U.S. that are Samsung Care authorized (there will be an additional 200 locations opened by early 2019 according to the South Korean electronics giant). Samsung says that these uBreakiFix centers will be able to offer same-day repair service in most cases. This would likely cover [relatively] simple procedures like replacing the battery and display, or replacing non-functioning buttons. If your brand-new Galaxy S9+ was mauled by a bear, however, we have the feeling that it would take a bit longer to fix.

Samsung says that appointments can be booked online, or you can simply walk into a retail location and drop off your damaged Galaxy smartphone. And just in case you are thinking that you might be getting subpar replacement parts for your device, Samsung reassures customers that genuine parts and tools are used to complete repairs, and all technicians are Samsung-certified.

“This announcement marks a fundamental shift in our care offerings to consumers and underscores our commitment to provide Samsung customers with support anywhere, anytime our customers need it," said Michael Lawder, Samsung's SVP of Customer Care.

As for the Galaxy devices that are eligible for same-day services, Samsung says that Galaxy S phones dating back to the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6+ are eligible along with the Galaxy Note5 and Note8. If you need to setup an appointment at a uBreakiFix location, head on over to this website.
