Samsung Unveils Amazon Echo Compatible POWERbot VR7000 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner

Did Santa forget to bring a Roomba to you for Christmas? Maybe the latest announcement from Samsung will catch your eye. The corporation just unveiled its Amazon Echo-compatible POWERbot VR7000 robotic vacuum cleaner.

Samsung stated, “Just set it and watch it go to work. The POWERbot VR7000’s navigational features and sensors combined with slim design and increased suction power help make sure the job gets done.”

According to Samsung’s research, 39 percent of consumers in North America said they expect their robot vacuum cleaner to reach hard-to-reach places. The POWERbot VR7000 was specifically designed to clean cracks and crevices and prevent manual clean-up. Its 20 watts of suction power help to clean hard-to-reach places like under the bed. Its Edge Clean Master feature allows it to come within ½ inch (15 mm) of walls. This is possible because the vacuum places its 11 inch (288mm) brush toward the front and its Auto Shutter creates a barrier to help collect dust closer to the edges.

The vacuum’s smart features are also intended to increase performance. Visionary Mapping Plus and FullView Sensor 2.0 allows the vacuum to remember the contours of a room, track dirt, and detect and work around obstacles less than 0.4 in. (10mm) tall. The vacuum's motor also adjusts its function depending on the surface.

The POWERbot VR7000 is fully controllable by app. Users can start or stop the machine, schedule cleaning times, and check the cleaning history. Perhaps the vacuum’s neatest feature, is that it is compatible with Amazon Echo, allowing users to control their POWERbot VR7000 with voice commands.

The robotic vacuum cleaner will be featured at CES 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada from January 5th to January 8th
