The Flip Phone Making a Comeback? Samsung Folder Dual Screen Smartphone Breaks Cover

The last time flip phones were in style, mom jokes were in vogue and everybody was replying "That's what she said" to every comment that could be taken the wrong way. All three are now relics of an earlier age, though it appears Samsung is trying to bring one back in the limelight (no, not mom jokes).

Leaked photos of an unreleased flip phone from Samsung called the Galaxy Folder landed on the web this weekend with a design that's a throwback to when feature phones ruled the earth. However, the Galaxy Folder isn't just a retro model, it's an evolution of the flip phone into smartphone territory powered by Android.

It has a two displays, one on top of the clamshell lid when it's closed and another on the other side when you flip it open, both measuring 3.67 inches. Underneath the hood is said to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked up to 1.7GHz and 2GB of RAM.

No word yet on when the Galaxy Folder is supposed to launch, in which market(s), or for how much.
