T-Mobile Launches 3G webConnect USB Laptop Stick
For whatever reason, T-Mobile has definitely lagged behind the other major carriers in the United States when it comes to 3G deployment, but the company has taken a major step in fully catching up today with the introduction of its webConnect USB Laptop Stick. As with every other 3G USB stick out there, this one also enables users to connect to the Internet at 3G speeds with their notebook so long as they can pull down a T-Mobile 3G signal.
The device, which is manufactured by Huawei Technologies, fully supports HSDPA data and even supports 802.11b/g Wi-Fi to let users connect at 10,000 locations across the U.S. in the T-Mobile HotSpot Network. Of note, the stick also has room for up to 8GB of storage, so media lovers needn't fret over giving up one of those precious USB ports. Its tri-band nature makes it acceptable to use on GSM networks around the globe (with outrageous roaming charges, of course) as well as on slower EDGE / GPRS frequency bands where 3G coverage is unavailable.
