Verizon Wireless Drops Short Teaser For ‘Shatterproof’ Droid Turbo 2 Android Smartphone

Verizon can hardly contain its excitement over a new flagship that's coming its way. That flagship is the Droid Turbo 2, and while we'll get a full look at the handset during a joint press event between Verizon and Motorola next week, the wireless carrier posted a teaser video on Twitter that provides a clear view of the backside.

The Droid Turbo 2 is shown falling in slow motion to the pavement, display side down, which would normally result in a cracked screen and a few obscenities, Presumably the Droid Turbo 2 will be able to withstand such a torture test, hence why Verizon is pitching the handset as "the perfect phone for imperfect people."

If you're the type that's prone to dropping your phone yet refuse to protect it with a case, then this might be the Droid you've been looking for. Previously leaked ads show Motorola and Verizon marketing the Droid Turbo 2 as being the first phone in the world to feature a "shatterproof screen," though it's not yet known what makes the handset so tough. It could be using a new glass material or perhaps the display is sunken ever-so-slightly behind the edges to prevent it from coming in contact with the ground in the first place.

It's rumored the Droid Turbo 2 will also boast an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor paired with 3GB of RAM to power the 5.5-inch Quad HD (2560x1440) display, along with 32GB and 64GB storage options, 21MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, dual front-facing speakers, and a 3,760 mAh battery.
