Mainstream With Muscle?

The benchmarks below, using Croteam's Serious Sam: The Second Encounter, were run using another Beyond 3D script.  We ran each card through the "Little Trouble" level.  The script allows for three different quality settings -- we chose the highest setting of Extreme Quality.  We also opted to use OpenGL when running this particular benchmark.

Let's Get Serious Like Sam
How serious can he be with a pair of Flyer's on?

Both cards manage to push out some respectable frame rates, even at the 1024x768 setting, but lose some luster with AA and AF enabled.  Once again the Albatron FX 5200 Ultra card blows past the Radeon 9000 Pro with AA and AF enabled.

Quake III Arena v1.32
Tried and True

We used Quake III Arena for these next set of numbers.  Seems like Quake III has been around forever, but it still gives us a nice metric for performance even on today's GPU's.  Using a timed demo, we put both of these cards in the Arena.  We made them fight to the death.  Here's how it turned out.

Pretty much the same story.  The Radeon 9000 Pro manages to hold its own without Antialiasing or Anisotropic Filtering enabled, but falls in the shadows of the NVIDIA powered Albatron card as soon as the visual goodies are turned on.  The 74.5 FPS squeezed out by the FX 5200 Ultra at a resolution of 1024x768 is nothing to sneeze at.  Again, these are some decent numbers for those on a budget.  On to the final tests and the conclusion.
