Radeon RX 6800 & RX 6800 XT Review: AMD’s Back With Big Navi

AMD Radeon RX 6800 & 6800 XT Review: Benchmarked On Intel - Part 1

Although we've already run through a full set of benchmarks with the Radeon RX 6800 and Radeon RX 6800 XT using a Ryzen 5950X-powered system, we thought it would be interesting to see how these new GPUs behaved on our traditional GPU testbed, which is built-around an Intel Core i9-10980XE processor and X2999 chipset.

We're not going to dwell on these numbers much, because the overall performance trends are unchanged versus the AMD-based system, but if you're interested to see how "Big Navi" plays with an Intel processor, we've got you covered...

With the sole exception of the Port Royal Ray Tracing benchmark, the Radeon RX 6800 outpaced the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 3070 on the Intel-based test system. And just like we saw in our tests with the Ryzen-powered test rig, the Radeon RX 6800 XT trades blows with the GeForce RTX 3080, except when Ray Tracing is involved...
