ASUS ZenFone 2 Review: Excellent Android Value

Next, we'll take a look at how the ZenFone 2 compares to other smartphones by examining a few benchmarks that are currently available in the Android Marketplace. 

First, let’s take a look at the SunSpider JavaScript benchmark. According to the SunSpider website:

This benchmark tests the core JavaScript language only, not the DOM or other browser APIs. It is designed to compare different versions of the same browser, and different browsers to each other. Unlike many widely available JavaScript benchmarks, this test is real world, balanced and statistically sound.

In the JavaScript and web-browsing related SunSpider and BrowserMark tests, the ZenFone 2 performs well versus flagship devices from last year, though it can’t hang with some of the latest (and much more expensive) high-end devices. Still, its numbers here are solid considering the ZenFone is 1/3rd to 1/2 the price of some of the devices we used for comparison.
