Dell packed the XPS 27 7760 with
AMD Radeon R9 M470X graphics, giving the system some reasonable muscle when it comes to games. No
AIO is going to be a graphics powerhouse, but it ought to be able to handle some light-duty gaming. To that end, we fired up a couple of popular game titles.

Thief is a stealth video game developed by Eidos Montréal, published by Square Enix. The game is set in 'The City', a dark fantasy world inspired by Victorian, Gothic, and steampunk aesthetics. Players control Garrett, a master thief who embarks on several missions focusing on stealing from the rich. Thief make use of the popular Unreal engine for render its intricate, dark worlds.
Thief tends to favor NVIDIA GPUs and the XPS 27 drops in a few frames per second behind the ASUS Zen AiO, powered by a GeForce GTX 960M. However, playable frame rates are maintained, up to 1080p with normal to high image quality settings.

Monolith’s surprisingly fun Orc-slaying title Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor, delivers a ton of visual fidelity even at the lowest quality settings. So, to maximize the eye-candy on these high-end graphics cards, we ran the game’s Medium quality present in the benchmark routine at a couple of resolutions, topping out at 3840x2160. All of the game's graphics-related options were enabled, along with FXAA and Camera Blur.
Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor shows the favor swinging back to AMD's
Radeon R9 M470X in the XPS 27 for this test. Here we're testing at higher resolution as well and though these machine can't game at native resolution, 1440p is within grasp, perhaps with a bit more tweaking for an optimal experience. At 1080p, the XPS 27 hums along nicely north of 50 fps and again, scaling down to 1080p from the panel's native 4K res is no problem at all and still looks great.
So, to tally these numbers up, the new XPS 27 is definitely gaming capable and fairly well-equipped to do so.
