CrystalDiskMark is a synthetic benchmark that tests both sequential and random small and mid-sized file transfers using incompressible data. It provides a quick look at best and worst case scenarios with regards to SSD performance, best case being larger sequential transfers and worse case being small, random transfers.

The Samsung SSD 860 EVO performed well in the various CrystalDiskMark tests as well. It didn't lead the pack in any one particular category, and traded victories with the SSD 860 Pro and WD Blue in some tests, but overall performance is solid here.
