Acer Outs Premium And Stylish ConceptD Laptops And Desktops For Creators
Acer has rolled out a new line of notebooks, monitors, and desktops that it is aiming at content creators called
The machine has a form factor that allows the monitor to swivel in the lid of the notebook using a CNC-machined Ezel Aero Hinge. The display is a 17.3-inch Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) unit, and it can flip, extend, or recline for multiple use modes in the fancy hinge. Acer notes that the display is PANTONE Validated and covers 100% of the Adobe RGB color gamut with Delta E <1 color accuracy.
The machine includes a Wacom EMR Stylus that attaches to it via a magnet and allows sketching and drawing. The stylus offers 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity to enable creators to design from scratch, take notes, or highlight areas on the screen. Processors for the notebook are up to 9th generation Intel Core i9 mobile units, and the notebook can be fitted with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 graphics card. The CPU can be paired with up to 32GB of DDR4 2666MHz memory and a pair of 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs in RAID 0.
Other products in the line include the ConceptD 7 with up to 9th gen Intel Core i7 processor, GeForce RTX 2080 graphics, and a 15.6-inch UHD 4K IPS display that is PANTONE Validated. The
On the desktop side, the ConceptD 900 and 500 machines have a range of available NVIDIA GPUs up to the Quadro RTX 6000. The D900 machine has dual Intel Xeon Gold 6148 processors with up to 40 cores, NVIDIA Quadro RTX 6000 GPU, and support for up to 192GB of ECC memory. The 500 unit has up to 9th gen Core processors and up to Quadro RTX 4000 GPUs. The Concept D 900 launches in May starting at $19,999 with the Concept D 500 launching in July starting at $1,699.
To go with those desktops, Acer also has some new displays that are PANTONE Validated and have color accuracy of Delta E <1. The first is the ConceptD CM7321K 32-inch that uses local dimming and Mini LED tech. A smaller CP7271K 27-inch monitor is offered that is optimized for 3D content creators. The 32-inch monitor launches in September for $2,999 with the 27-inch unit launching in July for $1,999. Earlier today Acer unveiled the beastly Predator Helios 700 gaming laptop.
