Acer Launches Nitro 5 And Swift 3 Notebooks With Ryzen 3000 Zen+ APUs

Acer has unveiled notebooks that are powered by the latest AMD Ryzen Mobile processor with integrated Radeon Vega graphics ahead of Computex 2019. Acer is cramming the second-gen Ryzen mobile processors into the Nitro 5 and Swift 3 notebooks. The Nitro 5 can be optioned with up to a second-gen AMD Ryzen 7 3750H processor with a Radeon RX 560X GPU inside.

The machine has a 15.6-inch full HD IPS display with 80% screen-to-body ratio. The Nitro 5 has Gigabit WiFi with 2x2 MU-MIMO technology and plenty of connectivity options. Connectivity includes HDMI 2.0, USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 1 and more. To keep the hardware cool, the Nitro 5 has dual fans and Acer CoolBoost technology that can increase fan speed by 10% and GPU cooling by 9% compared to auto mode.

The Swift 3 can be fitted with up a second-gen Ryzen 7 3700U processor with Radeon Vega Graphics. Optional discrete Radeon 540X graphics gives an added dose of graphics muscle for casual gaming. The machine has a 14-inch screen with slim bezels and an aluminum design that lays flat when needed. The notebook is lightweight at 1.45kg and is 17.95 mm thick.

Acer will be showing off both of these notebooks at Computex 2019 running from May 28 through June 2, 2019. Acer unveiled other notebooks in April including the premium ConceptD machines aimed at creators. It has a big 17.3-inch screen with a fancy CNC-machined Ezel Aero Hinge. The machine also includes a Wacom EMR stylus and serious hardware options starting at $4,999.

AMD fans might want to check out the 50th-anniversary bundles that the chip maker is still offering including a couple of games and some discounts at participating retailers. The games include The Division 2 Gold Edition and World War Z.
