Costco's Galaxy Note 9 Deal Will Save You Up To $500, No Contract Required

One of the biggest smartphone launches so far this year has been the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. When the smartphone went on sale last week, we ran down some of the best deals that you can get on the smartphone from all the major carriers. The thing that they all had in common was that you were tied to a contract with the carrier to get the discount. Costco has stepped in and is offering one of the better deals on the Note 9 that's going right now if you don't want a contract.

The only caveat to this deal is that you need a Costco membership to save the money. Assuming you don't mind shelling out the membership fee of $60 to join the club you can save up to $500 on the price of the Note 9 smartphone. The big caveat is that you do have to trade in a qualifying Samsung device to save the $500. Qualifying devices include:

  • Samsung Galaxy S8
  • Samsung Galaxy S8+
  • Samsung Galaxy S8 Active
  • Samsung Galaxy S7
  • Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
  • Samsung Galaxy S7 Duos
  • Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Duos
  • Samsung Galaxy S7 Active
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 8
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 5

If you don’t have one of those devices, you can't get the $500 discount. If you have one of the qualifying devices below, you can get a $250 discount. Those devices include:

  • Samsung Galaxy S6
  • Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
  • Samsung Galaxy S6 Active
  • Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 4
  • Samsung Galaxy S5
  • Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo
  • Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime
  • Samsung Galaxy S5 Active
  • Samsung Galaxy S5 Duos
  • Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport

If you have one of those devices the good news is that the trade-in loot offered comes in the form of a one-time bill credit and a prepaid Mastercard. Rather than having to wait to get the rebate paid out over 24 months after you trade your device you should have the full rebates in about three months with no contract with your carrier. This deal is only valid for a Note 9 via T-Mobile and you can check out our review of the Note 9 for more details on the device.
