Update: Essential Phone Falls To Crazy Low $224 Unlocked With This Amazon Deal

Essential Phone
Are you looking for a relatively inexpensive Android device that is not a piece of junk? You are in luck! Over at Amazon, you can score an Essential Phone for a just $279.99. The Essential Phone has a list price of $499.99, so you are saving nearly half on this deal. How long the sale last, though, is anyone's guess at this point.

The version that is on sale is the unlocked model in Halo Gray. Note that this is for the phone only—it does not come with the 360 Camera add-on or Essential HD Earphones, which are available in separate bundles that cost $479.98 and $358.01, respectively, at the time of this writing.

At this point, there are obviously newer handsets on the market. However, this a decent deal for the money. The Essential Phone sports an edge-to-edge 5.7-inch Quad HD display, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip (SoC) and 4GB of RAM. It also has 128GB of onboard storage, though no microSD card slot.

For photos, the Essential Phone wields dual camera sensors on the rear (RGB + Mono). The phone's photo taking capabilities were never a high point, though performance has improved over time. Still, camera performance alone is not reason to consider the Essential Phone. Though if you want it at a great price, check Amazon here.

A bigger selling point is the software. The Essential Phone does is not bloated with third-party software. You get a nearly stock Android experience, and there is an update available to the latest build, Android 9.0 Pie. That makes the Essential Phone a bit more appealing, especially at this price point.
