DisplayMate Gifts Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Best Ever Display Rating
Samsung has done very well historically with DisplayMate ratings, with the Galaxy S8 receiving its highest ever rating at the time it launched. Earlier this year, the Galaxy S9 was crowned the best smartphone display in the world.
DisplayMate's test report for the Galaxy Note 9 shows that the smartphone's display performance has reached record-setting "Outstanding" levels and set many new Display Performance Records. One of those records was for Absolute Color Accuracy scoring a "very impressive" 0.5 JNCD making it "Visually Indistinguishable From Perfect."
DisplayMate wrote in the test results that the Note 9 display was "almost certainly considerably better than your existing Smartphone, 4K UHD TV, Tablet, Laptop and computer monitor." OLED hardware Performance for the Note 9 is significantly improved with a 27% increase in brightness in high brightness mode over the Galaxy Note 8 it replaced. That means an easier to read screen in bright environments.
The display also received "Very Good Ratings" for color accuracy and intensity scale measurements and results. DisplayMate notes that despite its now tougher grading standards, the Galaxy Note 9 received 100% all green very good to excellent ratings in all categories earning the display its highest ever A+ grade. It's worth noting that the Galaxy S8 earned the same A+ rating for its OLED last year, but that score was with less strenuous testing methods.
