Gigabyte's Custom AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT Navi Graphics Card Lands On Amazon

Gigabyte Radeon RX 5700 XT
One of the first preorders for a custom Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card has materialized on Amazon. There is a new listing for Gigabyte's Radeon RX 5700 XT Gaming OC 8G model, which sports three axial cooling fans instead of the blower-style cooler found on reference models. As to when it will ship, though, the listing does not say.

It only says "Temporarily out of stock," albeit with the option of adding the item to your cart and/or purchasing it.

"Order now and we'll deliver when available. We'll email you with an estimated delivery date as soon as we have more information. Your account will only be charged when we ship the item," the list says.

AMD previously said its hardware partners would make custom Navi cards available starting around the middle of August. We take that to mean sometime next week. As for pricing, PowerColor recently teased on Twitter its own custom Radeon RX 5700 XT card on Twitter, noting that custom models will start at $399, the same price as reference models.

In this case, Amazon lists Gigabyte's card for $419.99. That is a modest $20 premium over Gigabyte's reference model. In addition to a beastlier "Windforce 3" cooling solution, Gigabyte's custom variant sports an overclock of some kind. The listing does not list the actual base and boost clocks, though, and Gigabyte has not yet updated its website with this model.

For reference, stock Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics cards have a 1,605MHz base clock and 1,905MHz boost clock (along with a 1,755MHz "game" clock). Assuming the images in the listing are accurate, the custom card will draw power from 8-pin and 6-pin (one each) PCIe connectors. This probably indicates a conservative overclock, at least compared to custom models that end up using two 8-pin PCIe power connectors.

We will have to wait and see what the demand ends up being for custom Navi cards. Reference models are readily available though, so hopefully this means the custom models will also be in plentiful supply.
