Lenovo Battery Recall is Official

Ripped strait from our speculation last night, Lenovo and IBM have officially recalled about 168,500 Sony manufactured battery packs (an additional 357,500 battery packs were sold worldwide).  The affected part numbers are:

and can be found in the following ThinkPad notebook computers: T Series (T43, T43p, T60); R Series (R51e, R52, R60, R60e); and X Series (X60, X60s).  Users owning the affected batteries should contact Lenovo for a replacement at (800) 426-7378 or log onto www.lenovo.com/batteryprogram for additional information.
