Motorola Moto Z4 Rocks Snapdragon 675 And 25MP Selfie Cam In Alleged Leak

Motorola's long-running Moto Z series of smartphones is ready for its customary yearly makeover. According to a new leak, the Moto Z4 is the newest member of the family and will come equipped with a 6.4-inch Full HD OLED panel with a waterdrop notch and in-display fingerprint sensor.

Last year's Moto Z3 was somewhat underwhelming -- as a flagship -- since it debuted with the already outdated Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC when contemporary phones were already using the Snapdragon 845. This time around, the Moto Z4 still isn't using flagship-caliber hardware. Instead, it's said to use the Snapdragon 675, which sits at the upper end of Qualcomm's mid-range SoC family. There are reportedly 4GB and 6GB RAM options along with 64GB or 128GB of storage available.

Interestingly, the Moto Z4 is said to ditch the rear-mounted dual 12MP cameras of the Moto Z3 instead of a single 48MP camera. Having a single rear camera isn't the end of the world, as the Google Pixel smartphone family has managed to obliterate the competition in image quality with just a single lens. The camera uses Motorola Quad Pixel technology that merges four pixels together to create a larger pixel -- this results in a 12MP image as the final output.

For those that just can't get along without a selfie camera, Motorola has reportedly included a 25MP sensor with a Group Selfie mode. The selfie cameras will also be able to take advantage of Quad Pixel tech to enhance low-light photography.

The Moto Z4 will include a 3,600 mAh battery along with a 3.5mm headphone jack (which is a win in our book). As you might expect, the Moto Z4 still supports Motorola's modular Moto Mods accessories that snap onto the back of the phone. That means that the recently released 5G Moto Mod -- which is currently only compatible with the Moto Z3 -- will be supported by the new smartphone.

According to 91mobiles, the Motorola Moto Z4 will launch late next month.
