OnePlus 6T Leaks Again With Glossy And Matte Black Finishes
At this point, we pretty know what the unreleased OnePlus 6T looks like, unless all of the leaked images up to now have been fake. We doubt that's the case. Lest anyone need one more reminder of the upcoming phone's design, yet more official looking press renders have found their way to the web, showing the OnePlus 6T from the front, back, and sides.
If any of this looks familiar, it's because we've seen the same design several times over. Of particular note is the teardrop notch in the front of the display. For anyone who has not followed the history of the notch, it was first introduced by the Essential Phone, then later popularized by Apple on its iPhone X. There have been several Android phones to adopt the notch since then.
The implementation on the OnePlus 6T is similar to that of the Essential Phone. It's a smaller notch than what's found on the iPhone X and a bunch of Android handsets. It's basically a small dip in the top of the phone to accommodate the front-facing camera. Overall, however, the OnePlus 6T appears inspired by Oppo's R17, just as the OnePlus 6 tracked rather closely to the Oppo R15.
Around back is where things get interesting. Some of the previously leaked images we've seen have depicted a triple camera arrangement on the rear of the OnePlus 6T, stacked vertically. For a time, it appeared OnePlus was intent on following Huawei's footsteps, and specifically the P20, which boasts a 40MP main RGB lens flanked by an 8MP telephoto lens and a 20MP mono lens.
More recently, leaked press renders have shown a dual camera arrangement, and that is again the case here. Also consistent with recent renders is the lack of a 3.5mm audio jack, which is an interesting omission after OnePlus mocked the trend just months ago.
The OnePlus 6T is expected to arrive with a 6.4-inch display powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB or 8GB of RAM, and perhaps as much as 256GB of internal storage.
