OnePlus 6T Teardrop Notch And Rear Triple-Camera Outed In New Photo Leak

It's a good thing that phone makers don't also build submarines, because we have yet to see a high profile launch occur without a bunch of leaks beforehand. That is certainly the situation surrounding OnePlus and its upcoming OnePlus 6T handset. The latest leak involves yet another photo of the OnePlus 6T, presumably an official press render.

One of the most widely covered aspect of the OnePlus 6T is the all-front display, and specifically the notch at the top. Unlike the majority of notched phones, OnePlus does not appear to be dedicating a swooping chunk of real estate at the top. Instead, early photos and renders all show just a tiny notch that is similar to the one on the Essential Phone.

The latest leak is consistent with this, as you can see above. There's just a tiny notch at the top, which takes up a small portion of the all-front display. From the front, the overall design is similar to the Oppo R17.

As depicted, we find more clues to the phone's specs by looking at the rear. Namely, we can see a triple camera arrangement, aligned vertically. In that regard, OnePlus seems to be drawing inspiration from Huawei's P20. That phone boasts a 40MP main RGB lens flanked by an 8MP telelphoto lens and a 20MP mono lens.

While the rear is partially hidden, the absence of a fingerprint scanner is telling. Unless it's hidden off the side, it appears that the rumors pointing to an in-display fingerprint scanner are true. This is a feature that was recently shown in a photo of a supposed retail box for the OnePlus 6T. If it does find its way into the OnePlus 6T, it will interesting to see how well it works.

The OnePlus 6T is expected to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, and at least match the OnePlus 6 in RAM (8GB) and storage (256GB). Previous rumors point to the OnePlus 6T launching in October.
