Motorola Polaroid Moto Mod Turns Moto Z Phones Into An Instant Camera Printer, No Shake Required

Back in the day, the way most people took photos was with a Polaroid instant camera of the sort that shot pictures out the front for you to watch develop before your eyes. That good old shake and wait just a minute Polaroid almost instant gratification is making a bit of a comeback with some retro photography fans, but today most people take pictures with their smartphones. Today, however, Motorola has unveiled a new Moto Mod for the Moto Z family of smartphones that is called the Polaroid Insta-Share Printer, that could offer the best of both worlds.

Motorola writes, "Simply snap the mod on your moto z, click the physical button to launch the camera and take a picture, then print right from your phone. The Polaroid Insta-Share Printer even allows you to print your favorite pictures from Facebook, Instagram and Google Photos.

Just as the name implies, this is a printer that will give you a hard copy of whatever you are taking pictures of that you can share with friends immediately. The Insta-Share Printer has a physical button on it that you can press to launch the camera and take a picture. You can also print your favorite pictures from other sources to share in physical form.

Before printing, the photos can be customized with filters, borders, and text. The small printer uses Polaroid Premium ZINK Zero-Ink Paper and produces 2x3-inch smudge-proof photos. The photos also feature an adhesive back allowing them to be stuck anywhere you want to put a memory.

Motorola says that the Polaroid Insta-Share Printer Moto Mod will be available this week at Verizon and will land in markets globally in the coming months. There is no exact indication of when "coming months" might be.
