Samsung Begins Teasing the "Nexus Prime"
This will be the next "big" event, and the alternative one for Android lovers, as opposed to iOS lovers. In the teaser video that Samsung has posted, they tell us to get ready because "something BIG is coming," specifically to San Diego at Samsung's October 11th "Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2011 Google Episode."
In late August, the Korean-language Electronic Times stated that the Nexus Prime would sport a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED HD screen with 1280 x 720 pixels and Pentile technology. Some later reports have increased the screen size to 4.65-inches.
Also, it was said that the Nexus Prime would use a 1.5GHz processor, but since the AT&T version of the Galaxy S II has already been confirmed to be sporting something with that speed, could we perhaps see something more? One other rumor is that the Nexus Prime will appear first on Verizon, which would be a deviation from Google using a GSM carrier (usually T-Mobile, then later, AT&T) for its developer handsets.
Naturally it will also sport the next major version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) which still has no official version number. What's known, however, is that it will unify the tablet and smartphone experiences.
