Samsung Galaxy Texting App Is Freakishly Sending Photos To Random Contacts

If you own one of Samsung's Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus smartphones a wild bug making the rounds is leaving customers on edge. Reports indicate that some users have seen the default messaging app randomly send photos from their gallery to contacts without their knowledge. One impacted user claims that the Samsung device sent the entire photo gallery to their girlfriend.

Another user from reddit reported that the device had sent photos to his wife. The photos are being sent out over the stock Samsung messaging app. The particularly odd thing about this bug is that there is no record that the photos are being sent out left on the phone according to the Reddit user. There is a record, however, in T-Mobile logs that the images were sent. Some have speculated that the issue might be T-Mobile-related as the carrier recently added some messaging updates for new features. However, T-Mobile has stated that this issue isn’t on its.

While the issue is confirmed to be on the S9 devices, it's not clear if other devices are affected. Samsung issued a statement, saying, "We are aware of the reports regarding this matter and our technical teams are looking into it. While there is no official solution for the issue right now, one potential workaround is to change to the standard Google Messages app. This assumes the issue with sending the random messages is only in Samsung's own default messaging app.
