Sony PlayStation Classic Monster Price Cut Makes Retro Console A $25 Deal

Sony's PlayStation Classic retro game console was never really the hit that people were expecting. The console is now down to an all-time low price of $24.99 on Amazon, which is a discount of $35 off Amazon's regular retail price of $59.99. The thing is that even the $59.99 price is a substantial discount off the price it launched at not even a year ago.

When the PlayStation Classic first hit preorder in September of 2018, Sony was asking $99.99. By December the console had seen price cuts bringing its cost down to $75. Last month the price of the console was chopped to just $30. The $24.99 price tag that you can get the PlayStation Classic at right now is the lowest price we have seen so far.

If you order on Amazon and have a Prime account, you can get free shipping. Those not wanting to order via Amazon do have a couple of other options. Best Buy is offering the PlayStation Classic at the same $24.99, a $35 discount from the regular price at Best Buy. The question is, will this discount be enough to get gamers to purchase the retro console?

The PS Classic comes with 20 games pre-loaded out of the box and is 45% smaller than the original PlayStation console. Pre-loaded games include:

  • Battle Arena Toshinden
  • Cool Boarders 2
  • Destruction Derby
  • Final Fantasy VII
  • Grand Theft Auto
  • Intelligent Qube
  • Jumping Flash
  • Metal Gear Solid
