HP ZBook X2 G4 Review: A Powerful Convertible For Creative Professionals

HP Zbook X2 G4 Review: Battery Life Tests

Battery life testing is performed using Battery Eater Pro and a custom 1080p HD video loop test we developed here at HotHardware. We conduct the tests with Windows 10 quiet hours enabled and the displays' brightness calibrated as close to 115 lux on our meters as possible. Brightness calibration is vital to ensure a fair comparison with other notebooks in our group, since it greatly affects battery life. However, every notebook has different brightness ranges, so it’s critical to rely on a light meter instead of a Windows brightness setting percentage.

Don’t expect to stray too far from an outlet with the HP Zbook X2 G4. It falls short of 4 hours in our video loop test and almost manages 2 hours in our rigorous BatteryEater Pro test. The combination of powerful hardware, in a thin and light tablet form factor, means the battery can't be too big in the system and when the hardware it being taxed, that battery gets hammered hard.
