Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 Review: Multitasking On Android

Performance: Browsing & JavaScript

So far we have a great looking tablet with a thin and lightweight design, superb display, decent camera performance, and uninspiring battery life. What's left is to examine its CPU and GPU performance.

We'll kick things off with the SunSpider JavaScript benchmark. According to the SunSpider website:

This benchmark tests the core JavaScript language only, not the DOM or other browser APIs. It is designed to compare different versions of the same browser, and different browsers to each other. Unlike many widely available JavaScript benchmarks, this test is real world, balanced and statistically sound.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 Browsermark

The Galaxy Tab S2 jumps out to fast start in both SunSpider and in particular Browsermark, the latter of which it secured a second place finish behind only Apple's iPad Air 2. These results are in line with our real-world browsing experience -- with 3GB of RAM, the Galaxy Tab S2 is more than capable of running multiple tabs. It also offers smooth scrolling and pinch-to-zoom action.
