Amazon Prime Opens Family Vault Unlimited Photo Sharing For Friends And Family
Have you ever wanted to upload photos or videos of a special event like a wedding, but did not have enough storage or their ability to share with all of your family and friends? Amazon just introduced several new features to the Prime Photo service to help users share all of their memories.
David Nenke, Director of Prime Photos, remarked, “Prime members love the benefit of unlimited photo storage but often struggle to collect and organize photos across multiple devices and accounts into a single, shareable archive. We launched the Family Vault to make it easy for family members to safely store and share all their favorite moments.”
Amazon Prime members in the United States can now invite up to five additional people to their “Family Vault”. Those in the Family Vault can share an unlimited amount of photos and up to 5GB of video and other files. The feature is currently free to use.
Prime Photos also now includes “smart search technology”, which allows users to search by people, places, or things. For example, if a member searches for “sunset”, all relevant photos will appear. This new feature will significantly reduce the amount of time Prime Members spend searching for specific photos.
Prime Members also get access to photo printing with free delivery. They can order photo books, cards, and prints directly from their Prime Photos account. Amazon Print products start at 9¢ per single-sided print and $19.99 USD for photobooks.
Amazon has consistently been increasing its Prime perks to members. Amazon recently introduced Prime Reading which offers members unlimited books, magazines, and comics. The perk is free to Prime members and is available through Kindle.
Amazon Prime is $99 per year if paid in full upfront or $10.99 per month for a monthly subscription. Both include a free 30-day trial. Students at qualifying schools can purchase Amazon Prime for half price after a free six month trial.
