Best of CES 2018 Desktop And Systems

The Consumer Electronics Show is usually brimming with new PCs targeting a wide range of users, from corporate desktops, to HTPCs, to over-the-top, gaming builds loaded with all of the latest technology.  Below are a few of our favorites from this year's CES...

Intel Hades Canyon NUC With Radeon RX Vega Graphics

CES 2018 was the coming out party for Intel’s new Hades Canyon NUC With Radeon RX Vega Graphics. Intel promises that this will be the most powerful NUC ever, that’s to its combination of 8th Gen Core processor and bleeding edge graphics from AMD. Intel will make this latest NUC available in two variants: the NUC8i7HNK and the NUC8i7HVK. The former makes use of an 8th generation Core i7 processor with Radeon RX Vega M GL graphics (65W), while the latter uses an unlocked version of the Core i7 with Radeon RX Vega M GH graphics (100W), that targets overclockers.

The Origin MILLENIUM also debuted at CES. The MILLENIUM's chassis features beautiful tempered glass panels on both sides, that swing open with ease thanks to the use of tool-less, magnetic latches. The front panel is constructed from the same milled aluminum that comprises the rest of the chassis which feels and looks great and is highly durable. Origin also uses a now-patented system to allow mounting the motherboard in one of four different orientations to further customize setups for their customers.

MAINGEAR F131 With APEX Cooling

Another one of our favorite systems from CES 2018 is MAINGEAR’s new F131 Gaming Desktop with APEX cooling. Not only is the F131 aesthetically beautiful, but it showcases the kind of craftsmanship and innovation MAINGEAR is known for. The system features a custom, self-contained liquid cooling system that is fully integrated into the front half of the chassis. It features a pair of water pumps, pressure regulated parallel cooling for both CPU and GPU, flow-rate and temp sensors, and customizable lighting. The company also offers a variety of customization options for the actual cooling loop tubing and the chassis itself can be customized as well.

That just about wraps up our take on the Best Of CES 2018. There was plenty more to see at the show, however, so be sure to check out the rest of our coverage right here and stop by our YouTube channel to check out all of the videos we put together at the show.
