OnePlus 8 Pro And One Plus 8 Performance Benchmark Results
The latest version of Geekbench for Android has aligned its scores with the desktop version of Geekbench 5, so as a result we had to capture all new results for this review -- the data presented here should't be compared to any of our previous Geekbench results in older smartphone reviews. We've still got a pretty big cross-section of devices represented, though, so let's see how the OnePlus 8 Pro and One Plus 8 fare versus some of their competitors...
Geekbench 5
Synthetic CPU Benchmark
In these Geekbench 5 tests, the OnePlus 8 Pro and One Plus 8 finish near the top of the charts. The iPhone 11 Pro has the strongest single-core performance overall, but the OnePlus 8 takes the pole positions versus the other Android-based devices. In the multi-threaded test, the OnePlus 8 Pro and One Plus 8 finish strong, behind only the iPhone 11 Pro and LG V60, but ahead of Samsung's latest flaships.
PCMark Work 2.0 For Android And AnTuTu 8
Pocket Productivity And General System Performance
We've used UL's PCMark on desktops, and the Work 2.0 benchmark for Android is an excellent suite of tests. We like the Work 2.0 benchmark has a wide range of tasks, including image and video editing along with everyday workloads including email and web browsing. When you see the test running live, it's clear the scripted application tests are carefully selected and tuned to make use of the mobile platforms involved in a very controlled way.
In the PCMark10 benchmarks, the OnePlus 8 Pro and One Plus 8 put up strong numbers that compete with some of the fastest devices we have tested to date. The OnePlus 8 Pro lands just behind the Samsung Galaxy S20, and the OnePlus 8 slide in behind the Oppo Find X2 Pro.
AnTuTu’s latest benchmark returns a number of metrics ranked with somewhat nebulous scores, rather than frame rates or time to complete. Here we're running the latest version of AnTuTu across an multiple Android devices. AnTuTu returns four top level performance results which are all included here: CPU, RAM, 3D, UX (or User Experience), along with a total score...
The OnePlus 8 Pro and One Plus 8 also performed well in the AnTuTu benchmark. Here, both devices are able to outrun the Samsung Galaxy S20 in terms of their overall score and they end up trailing only the Oppo Find X2 Pro, that's mostly to its particularly strong score in the UX sub-test.

the OnePlus 8 Pro and One Plus 8 take the lead in the AITuTu benchmark. Here, the OnePlus 8's additional memory (our OnePlus 8 Pro and One Plus 8 samples had 8GB and 12GB of memory respectively) give it an edge over the Pro, but both devices managed to outpace flagship phones from Samsung, Oppo, and LG.
Next up we'll focus on 3D performance using GFXBench and UL's 3DMark Sling Shot benchmarks. Since modern Android phones come with displays of all shapes and sizes, we level the playing field by looking at off-screen rendering performance. While that doesn't draw full-sized images to the screen and makes the benchmarks a little less fun to watch in the process, this does ensure that every phone gets the exact same task. These tests are a bit more challenging than most 3D games on Google Play, since most developers want their games to be playable for the vast majority of phones.

GFXBench has several scenes built in. The most well-known batteries are the T-Rex test and Manhattan. These are good choices for our lower-end phone, since it doesn't have big, beefy graphics built in.
Once again we see the OnePlus 8 Pro and One Plus 8 finishing near the top of the charts, trailing only the Samsung Galaxy S20, and in one test, the LG V60 ThinQ. That said, the deltas separating the top-end devices here are quite small. For all intents and purposes, all of the Snapdragon 865-powered phones perform at similar levels in this benchmark.

UL graphics test performance
Futuremark 3DMark Sling Shot Extreme Benchmark
UL's 3DMark has been a staple 3D graphics benchmark at HotHardware across all mobile and desktop platforms alike. It seems that UL has retired Ice Storm, as that benchmark no longer appears in the application. However, we still have results for Sling Shot Extreme, which uses 1920x1080 off-screen rendering to test performance in its scene.
The overall results in 3DMark put the OnePlus 8 Pro and One Plus 8 in the lead, outpacing all of the other devices we've tested. Once again, though, the deltas separating the Snapdragon 865-based devices is small and fall within the margin of error in this benchmark.
